Tour with Matti Salo (guitar, Finland) and Mat Muntz (bass, USA)
Posted on June 14, 2018
Vocalist Astrid Kuljanic, guitarist Matti Salo, and bassist Mat Muntz have come together to create new music – exploring free improvisation, live electronics, and compositions drawing on a diverse range of influences. Salo is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, composer, and sound designer based in Tampere, Finland with experience ranging from solo guitar and small group jazz to death metal and scoring puppet theater productions. Kuljanic and Muntz are both based in New York and have collaborated as a duo since 2015, rendering jazz repertoire and improvisations as immersive soundscapes through the use of electronics.

The first concert in Zagreb at Mocvara will be preceded by a workshop in which the band members will discuss approaches to collective improvisation, composition, and electronic performance. The workshop will be structured as an open-ended discussion with musical examples and group improvisation exercises, so attendees are encouraged to bring questions and their instruments.
Please e-mail Astrid at info@astrid-music.com to reserve your spot in the workshop! It will start at 6 pm on Monday, June 18th and it will cost 40 kn.
